21 students suspended, 14 lose their hostels

21 students from Faculty of Commerce were suspended for 20 days.

It had been long since anybody heard of a major clash in the campus. Couple of days ago two groups had a major fight in Faculty of Commerce. The two groups involved were of day scholars and hostellers. The reason behind the clash was a cricket match which was held between hostellers and day scholars where few day scholars hit some hostellers during the match. Next morning a mob of hostellers attacked the day scholars in the faculty. Many were equipped with hockey, steel rods and belts. After the fight that took place on Tuesday (23rd Sep), all the students who were somehow linked with the matter were not allowed to attend classes in the faculty. The 22 students will not attend any classes till 15th October. One boy from DAV (a BHU affliated college) was also found to be involved. The principal has been notified about the matter. 14 of them lost their hostel (Gurtu hostel).

Violent clash at Faculty of Commerce

It had been long since anybody heard of a major clash in the campus. Couple of days ago two groups had a major fight inFaculty of Commerce. In an earlier post on this website a member brought forward this matter (http://www.bhuspeaks.com/2008/07/08/discrimination-among-students/). But now its almost proven. Thanks to faculty of commerce. The two groups involved were of day scholars and hostellers. The reason behind the clash was a cricket match which was held between hostellers and day scholars where few day scholars hit some hostellers during the match. Next morning a mob of students attacked the day scholars (probably as a matter of revenge) in the faculty. Many were equipped with hockey, steel rods and belts. Some say that there was air firing as well. However proctorial board denies this piece of information.

Four students; Vishal, Ankit, Samarth and Radhemohan; were injured badly and were admitted to the emergency ward of Sir Sunderlal hospital. Presently their treatment is going on. Almost 12-15 students were taken to the proctorial office for enquiry.

Funny pic !!!

Funny Mouse ArrowI came across a funny pic and thought of sharing it with all of you at BHU.

I think the computer-freaks would love it….

A girl leads BHU, again…

BHU gateStudents Council for this session was appointed (”elected” would be the wrong word) on 11th September 2008. Shubha Verma (pursuing M.Tech at IT BHU) replaced Jhanvi Jalan (last year’s student’s representative). Every student at the university is questioning thinking why a girl again…..
Nobody in the university is unaware of the biasness BHU shows towards girls and this time its evident in the Student Council too.
There may be one more reason. I think that BHU is afraid of giving the top most position to a boy because they are feeling that the situation my run out of control. A Head boy may take few decisions that they may not like (after all unlike girls boys have their own way of thinking). Girls stick to the rules quite well and this must be assuring the administration that the things will virtually be in their hands (this year too).

Book Review: Three mistakes of my life

Though Chetan Bhagat’s “Three Mistakes of My life” is superb, but at some places the story goes typically like bollywood movies. Like in the end, the whole riots narration seems more dramatic. But overall the book leaves a mind blowing impression on readers and Chetan has again proved his writing skills beyond imagination.

On the other hand I think Chetan Bhagat has got a pattern… Sex, boozing and friendship with a scintillating end. This ain’t gonna work. I simply did not get what the author want to send a message to the youth..
You should have sex before marriage -> “Thanks God, I am eighteen and not a virgin” -> Vidya…
